Common questions

Can one 36K cool a whole house?
Only if the layout is open. A mini split conditions the space it's in, so separate rooms are usually better served by multi-zone.

What breaker does it need?
MRCOOL lists 33 A minimum circuit ampacity and a 35 A maximum breaker on a dedicated 230V circuit. A qualified electrician should size the wire.

How far can the indoor and outdoor units be apart?
The line can run up to 75 ft with up to 75 ft of height difference, per MRCOOL's manual. The bundle includes 25 ft.

Can I extend the line set?
Yes, with a 3/8 × 5/8 in extension and the 24K/36K coupler kit.

How it goes in

Four steps. One weekend.

  1. Hang the air handler

    Level the wall plate, drill the pass-through, and hang the indoor unit.

    Place the outdoor unit on a pad or wall bracket with clearance to breathe.

    Run the pre-charged Quick Connect® line set and tighten both ends with two wrenches.
